About The Nigeria Higher Education Foundation
The mission of the Nigeria Higher Education Foundation is to promote excellence in Nigerian higher education. The NHEF seeks to build and expand on academic and other linkages between Nigerian and foreign universities as well as qualified Nigerians in the Diaspora. The NHEF seeks to assist Nigerian universities to become selfsustaining and to supplement governmental funding by creating a culture of philanthropy not just within university alumni community living in Nigeria but by mobilizing friends and alumni of the universities in the Diaspora.
The Nigeria Higher Education Foundation is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization based in New York City. Seed funding for the foundation was provided by the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation in the Fall of 2004.
