Walé Adeosun, CFA, Chairman: Walé Adeosun is the Founder and Chief Investment Officer of Kuramo Capital Management. He was previously a Managing Director in the Investment Group of the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation. Walé is also the former Chairman of the Investment Advisory Committee of the $180 billion New York State Common Retirement Fund. In November 2014, Walé Adeosun was appointed by U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker to serve on President Obama’s Advisory Council on Doing Business in Africa (PAC-DBIA). The PAC-DBIA, a select group of 15 business leaders, has been asked to provide recommendations to the Commerce Secretary and to President Obama on how to strengthen commercial dialog between the U.S. and Africa. This appointment recognized Walé’s deep history of involvement with and investing in Africa.
Titi Odunfa Adeoye, Secretary: Mrs Odunfa Adeoye is the Founder and Managing Director of Sankore Investments, a global investment and advisory boutique with a strong focus on African markets. Prior to founding Sankore Investments, she led as the Head of Investment Strategy at Zenith Capital, the Investment banking subsidiary of Zenith Bank, Nigeria where she led teams responsible for investment/portfolio management, research, and new product development within the asset management business. Prior to Zenith, Titi worked at Goldman Sachs and in this capacity developed investment expertise across a range of asset classes such as equities, fixed income, real estate and commodities. Titi holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, a BBA in Accounting from Howard University and is a CPA registered in Washington D.C.
Olusola Adeeyo: Mr. Sola Adeeyo is the Chairman/CEO Astral Waters Limited. He is also a Director and the owner of Protea Hotel, Oakwood Park, Lekki/Epe Way; a 65-room 4 Star international hotel brand managed by Protea Hotel Group of South Africa. Mr. Adeeyo served as the pioneer Managing Director of Asset and Investment Limited; a company which he midwifed and where he held the position of Chief Helmsman from 1991 to 2001. Between the periods of 1989 to 1991, he was Director/Group Head Treasury of Investment Banking and Trust Company Limited (IBTC). He was part of the founding management/owner group that nurtured the bank from inception in 1989. At the Bank, he was responsible for treasury operations and also contributed in formulating and implementing the strategic direction of the bank. Sola had a remarkable stint at the Nigeria International Bank (Citi Bank) where he worked between the periods of 1986 and 1989. He was a pioneer member of the reconstituted treasury and foreign exchange unit responsible for policies formulation in furtherance of the Federal Government/CBN initiative to liberalize the Nation’s foreign exchange policy. Sola attended State University of New York, USA where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts. He acquired a Masters of Arts in International Relations from the Northeastern University, Boston, USA in 1981.
Gbenga G. Ogedegbe, MD, MPH, FACP: Dr. Gbenga Ogedegbe is a Professor of Population Health and Medicine, Chief Division of Health & Behavior, and Director of the NYU Center for Healthful Behavior Change in the Department of Population Health as well as Vice Dean and Chief Medical Officer for the Global Institute of Public Health. Dr. Ogedegbe is one of the leading experts on health disparities research and has co-authored over 100 publications and his work has been recognized by receipt of several research and mentoring awards including the prestigious John M. Eisenberg Excellence in Mentorship Award from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ). He is a member of numerous scientific committees and expert panels of the National Institutes of Health including the former 8th Joint National Committee on the Prevention, Diagnosis and Treatment of Hypertension (JNC-8), which develops guidelines for the evaluation and treatment of hypertension. He is a Fellow of the American Heart Association, American Society of Hypertension, American College of Physicians and the Academy of Behavioral Medicine
Seun Akindele Oloruntimehin: Seun Oloruntimehin is currently a Vice President in the New York office of Greenhill & Co., an independent investment bank with 15 offices on five continents. Since joining Greenhill in 2012, he has advised leading companies across various industries on a range of M&A and strategic advisory assignments. Prior to joining, Seun worked at Vetiva Capital Management in Lagos, Bain & Company in New York and Mubadala in Abu Dhabi. Seun holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Ibadan and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and is a CFA Charterholder.
