The Nigeria Higher Education Foundation (NHEF) in collaboration with Young African MBA’s (YAM) invites you to our  Young Professionals Networking Event on Wednesday March 23rd, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the Kuramo Capital Management office in New York City.

Keynote Speakers
Dr. Olugbenga Ogedegbe, MD, MS, MPH, FACP, is a New York University (NYU) Professor of Population Health and Medicine, Chief Division of Health & Behavior, and Director of the NYU Center for Healthful Behavior Change in the Department of Population Health as well as Vice Dean and Chief Medical Officer for the NYU Global Institute of Public Health. He is one of the leading experts on health disparities research. Using cutting-edge and innovative techniques in research training, Dr. Ogedegbe has expanded his work globally to reduce the burden of cardiovascular disease in Sub-Saharan Africa and contributed to the body of knowledge on the role of innovation in education. He has authored more than 150 original publications, editorials, and book chapters in leading medical journals and textbooks.

Prof Alapiki

Professor Henry Alapiki B.Sc., M.Sc., PGD, Ph.D.  is the Executive Director of the University of Port Harcourt Foundation, and a Professor of Political Science at the University of Port Harcourt. Since its inception, the Centre performs the role of coordinator and facilitator of partnerships and collaboration between the University of Port Harcourt and various organizations, industries and agencies within and outside Nigeria. The vision of the Foundation is to be an agent of change and serve as a catalyst in the promotion of partnership, scholarship and internationalization within the University of Port Harcourt. Professor Alapiki has authored over 70 publications and articles in referred national and international journals and is Chief Editor of the Journal of Nigerian Affairs. He maintains useful relationships with the leadership of the University of Port Harcourt Alumni Association within the country and in Diaspora.

Mr. Walé Adeosun, CFA, is the Chairman of the NHEF, Founder and Chief Investment Officer of Kuramo Capital Management, an independent investment management firm that provides targeted global investment management services to institutional investors, focused on alternative assets in emerging and frontier markets in Sub-Saharan Africa. Prior to this, Mr. Adeosun was previously a Managing Director in the Investment Group of the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation and served as Chair of the Investment Advisory Committee for the $180 billion New York State Common Retirement Fund. He currently serves on the President Obama’s Advisory Council on Doing Business in Africa.
